Axio Vert.A1

Axio Vert.A1 is a compact, inverted microscope that brings you big insights into your objectives. You examine large, heavy samples, using all the latest contrast methods without compromise. Or you might decide instead to increase your insights by combining several contrast methods.

At a single stroke you switch between brightfield, darkfield, DIC, C-DIC, fluorescence and polarization contrast in reflected light. In transmitted light, use brightfield, polarization and phase contrast.

You will be using a 5x encoded nosepiece turret as well as a light manager to capture light intensity and objective exchange automatically. That means you quantify your structure efficiently, evaluate the properties and quality of your materials, and then take appropriate measures.

With a 23mm field of view you understand most of your sample from first sight. Having grain-measuring reticles equips you very well for instant measurements. You also have AxioVision Software by Carl Zeiss for a powerful range of modules such as grain size, phase analysis, layer thickness and interactive measurement for your investigations.

Axio Scope

Every Axio Scope microscope is custom configured to suit your applications, catering for everything from simple to more complex tasks. Future upgrades are straightforward and the ergonomic design supports a healthy working position.

This compound microscope system can be equipped with a wide range of objectives, ranging from economical to sophisticated. An achromatically corrected reflected light beam path minimizes stray light and results in exceptionally bright and crisp images. The microscope features a 6 position objective nosepiece and illumination sources depending on your requirements – both halogen illumination and LED are available. Axio Scope is designed to exhibit low susceptibility to vibrations and provides exceptional stability.

The optical system of Axio Scope has been tailored to the requirements of material analysis as for example materialography or failure analysis. The variety of techniques available is unique in this performance class and includes all relevant contrast methods such as brightfield and darkfield, fluorescence and DIC, as well as the unique C-DIC (circular DIC), a polarization technique perfect for contrasting oriented structures.

Axio Lab

German Technical Inspection Authority (TUV) approved user friendly ergonomics ensure maximum comfort during operation and reduce the risk of muscular disorders in neck and shoulders even over a prolonged stretch of time. A 50W HAL lamp is integrated in the stand, with its high light efficiency providing homogeneous illumination. An energy saving LED alternative is available.

The system provides flexibility in selecting and switching between various contrasting methods, catering for a wide spectrum of applications. The 5x revolving nosepiece for bright and darkfield keeps all relevant objectives handy. A 4 position reflector turret with push&click contrast modules creates flexibility in selecting and switching between contrast methods. Note that Axio Lab.A1 is available with differential interference contrast (C-DIC), a technique that delivers excellent contrast in phase objects and other samples poor in intensity contrast.

A comprehensive range of components is available for Axio Lab.A1 in order to configure the system for your application in metallography and general material lab microscopy.

Axio Zoom.V16

For the first time, Axio Zoom.V16 combines a 16x zoom with a high numerical aperture of NA 0.25, moving to the forefront of all known stereo and zoom microscopes.

It achieves a very high aperture in the medium zoom range already: You get superior brightness in large object fields.

With the Plan-NEOFLUAR Z 2.3x objective, your Axio Zoom V.16 can achieve a numerical aperture of NA 0.5 in an object field of 1.5 millimeters. Use ApoTome.2 for fluorescence imaging to obtain optical sections. You get a system that masters routine screening as well as your most demanding multidimensional imaging applications – Axio Zoom.V16 does it all brilliantly.

The eZoom of Axio Zoom.V16 works with a motorized iris diaphragm coupled to the zoom. Simply select Brightness mode, Eyepiece mode or Camera mode by pressing a button on the SYCOP 3.

In addition to brightfield, darkfield and oblique illumination, you can get an increased contrast brightfield at the touch of a button. With the Best Mode button, Axio Zoom.V16 determines the actual optical state and optimizes transmitted light automatically. Simply save your setting and reload it for your next experiment – once again, at the touch of a button.

ZEN 2 software

The ZEN 2 software makes Carl Zeiss microscopes and cameras complete, transforming them into powerful, customized imaging stations. With little training you can control the entire workflow of your laboratory applications interactively.

Depending on the camera, you will be able to acquire individual images, multichannel fluorescence images or video sequences with up to 16 bits of image information per channel. ZEN provides you with reliable support by always suggesting the optimum dye and wavelength combinations for an experiment.
After acquisition you will also find important camera and device information in the very place you need it. Our specially developed image format documents the entire history of your image for this purpose. These image meta data enable you to reproduce acquisition situations and underline your results.

Do you just want to acquire microscope images and perform simple image processing or do you require ZEN together with one of our software modules? With three different versions of the software, you are guaranteed to have the functionality at your disposal to meet all the requirements of everyday laboratory practice.

Get to know the new Carl Zeiss microscope software today free of charge and without obligation with our new entry-level version ZEN lite 2.
